Montclair BOE Approves Superintendent Contract; 3 Members Absent
Kendra Johnson's tenure at the helm of Montclair's public school district will begin on May 1.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — With three of seven members absent, the Montclair Board of Education voted to ratify a contract for newly hired superintendent Kendra Johnson during a special meeting on Wednesday evening. Johnson’s tenure at the helm of Montclair’s public school district will begin on May 1, 2018.
Board members Jessica de Koninck, Anne Mernin and Eve Robinson weren’t present at the 4-0 vote on Wednesday. Johnson’s superintendent’s contract will run through June 30, 2021, Baristanet reported.
Johnson currently serves as the Montclair Public School District’s assistant superintendent for equity, curriculum and instruction. See her full resume here.

The district's current interim superintendent, Barbara Pinsak, was appointed to the position in March 2017.
