Montclair Child Center Gets $2.3M Head Start Grant

The Montclair Child Development Center in Essex County is the recipient of a $2.3 million Head Start grant.

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair Child Development Center (MCDC) in Essex County is the recipient of a $2.3 million Head Start and early Head Start grant.

The MCDC serves 490 children in four municipalities in Essex County: Montclair, Bloomfield, Orange and West Orange.

According to a news release, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services grant will to provide comprehensive childhood development services to predominantly low-income children and families in the area.

“Early Head Start and Head Start programs help set children’s foundation for development, learning, and success in school and in life,” said U.S. Congressman Donald Payne Jr. (NJ-10). “This funding will support children in New Jersey and help them grow with the passion and focus to reach their full potential.”
