Montclair Cops Chase, Arrest Accused Bike Thief From Elizabeth

The accused thief was found with a bag containing bolt cutters, Montclair police said.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Montclair police arrested an accused bicycle thief from Elizabeth after a brief chase on Monday, authorities said.

According to the Montclair Police Department, the pursuit started on Midland Avenue and ended on Park Street. Police eventually caught and arrested Leonard Pullins, 52, of Elizabeth, after a short foot chase.

Pullins is accused of stealing two bikes after cutting their locks. When apprehended, he had a bag containing bolt cutters in his possession, police said.

Authorities charged Pullins with two counts of theft, possession of burglary tools and resisting arrest.
