Montclair Cops Help Bloomfield Officers Catch Fleeing Driver

The Essex County man shoved an officer after being stopped, police say.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Montclair police officers helped their Bloomfield counterparts apprehend an Essex County driver who fled from officers after allegedly committing multiple motor vehicle offenses last week, authorities say.

According to the Montclair Police Department, officers in the area of Maple Avenue on Sept. 13 received a BOLO alert from Bloomfield police regarding a vehicle that eluded their officers’ attempts to pull it over.

Montclair officers soon found a man, Chase Carter, 27, of Montclair, driving the alleged vehicle. When officers stopped Carter, he allegedly got out of the car and confronted them, at one point shoving one of them, authorities said.
