Montclair Fire, Police Depts. See Problems With Non-Emergency Lines

The fire department non-emergency phone line saw technical difficulties. Meanwhile, the police department's line was out of service.

MONTCLAIR, NJ -- The Montclair police and fire departments had issues with their non-emergency phone lines on Monday, authorities reported.

Township officials shared the following message on Monday afternoon:

"The Montclair Police Department non-emergency phone number – 973-744-1234 – is currently out of service. The IT department is working on the issue. Please do not call 911 for non-emergency situations."

The fire department also had issues, officials announced in an advisory at 8:56 p.m.:

"The fire department non-emergency phone line is experiencing technical difficulties. The IT department is working on the issue. Should your fire alarm system go off, please call 911 to inform the dispatcher."
