Montclair Homeowner May Have Scared Away Burglar: Police
The North Mountain Avenue resident was at home when he saw a man standing on his lawn, Montclair police say.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A Montclair homeowner may have scared away a possible burglar on North Mountain Avenue on Monday, police say.
According to the Montclair Police Department, the homeowner was in his residence when he observed a man standing on his front lawn. After seeing the homeowner, the male fled on foot south on North Mountain Avenue.
Police said that the suspect allegedly attempted to gain entry to the residence by smashing a basement glass window.

The homeowner described the suspect as a male from 28 to 35-years-old, with a full beard, and wearing a hooded jacket with jeans and sneakers, police said.
