Montclair Makes U.S. News 2020 ‘Best High School’ List

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Attending high school in the age of the new coronavirus is an experience like no other in history, but U.S. News & World Report has kept up its rankings of the “best schools” in the nation.

The 2020 list ranked Montclair High School 2,479th in the entire country and 111st in New Jersey. U.S. News & World Report gave the school a rating of 86.07 out of 100 possible points.

According to U.S. News & World Report, additional information for Montclair High School includes:

• Total Enrollment – 2,071
• Student to Teacher Ratio – 14 to 1
• AP Participation Rate – 46 percent
• Total Minority Enrollment – 52 percent
• Total Economically Disadvantaged Students – 17 percent

The publication ranked nearly 18,000 schools across the U.S. this year, using weighted criteria to come up with the rankings, the most important being college readiness. See the full methodology here.
