Montclair Man Buried In Soil, Pinned To Oil Tank
Montclair and Cedar Grove firefighters rescued a man trapped in a trench after a soil collapse pinned him to an underground oil tank.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Montclair firefighters rescued a man trapped in a trench last week after a soil collapse pinned him to an underground oil tank and buried him up to his chest, authorities say.
The rescue began when the Montclair Fire Department received a report that a man was trapped in a trench on Linden Avenue at 1:25 p.m. on Dec. 3.
According to Montclair town officials, the man was attempting to cut an underground oil tank so that it could be removed when soil around him collapsed, covering him to his chest and pinning him to the tank.
