Montclair Officials: Use Less Power Or See Outages (UPDATED)
"PSEG estimates that 6500 customers could lose power if users don't take significant power conservation measures," Montclair officials said.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — Montclair residents need to use less electricity or it could be lights out for thousands, township officials said Monday.
On July 29, Montclair town officials issued an advisory about possible power outages if consumption rates aren't reduced.
"PSE&G is currently dealing with a number of electrical failures which could potentially impact the township," officials stated. "PSE&G has crews in the town making repairs, however, should the utility experience another electrical failure, the utility would need to perform a series of “load shedding” activities to avoid losing an entire substation servicing the town and surrounding communities."
