Montclair Parking Lot Attendant Robbed Near Chase Bank: Police

A man in a ski mask brandished a handgun and demanded money from the attendant, Montclair police say.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A Montclair parking lot attendant told police that he was robbed at gunpoint on Monday while on duty near the Chase bank on North Fullerton Avenue.

According to the Montclair Police Department, the attendant told officers that he was inside the ticket booth around 3:30 p.m. when a black, recent model, four-door Mercedes with tinted windows and a temporary tag pulled into the lot.

The victim said that a man in a black ski mask allegedly got out of the car, brandished a silver handgun at the employee, pushed him back into the booth and demanded money. The suspect then took the victim’s wallet and personal cash, as well as an unknown amount of cash from the booth’s register, police said.

The man then returned to his vehicle and fled southbound on North Fullerton Avenue, police said.

Nobody was injured in the incident, police said.
