Montclair Police Blotter: 911 Caller Arrested / Stolen Nissan Found In Newark / Home Burglary / Car Burglaries

Editor’s Note: The following incidents are reprinted directly from the Montclair police blotter, a listing of selected reports that may not include the full scope of activity in the area. All of the following incidents are accusations, and all suspects should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.

9-20-2016 (Hilltop Pl) Theft from a motor vehicle. A wallet was taken during this incident.

9-21-2016 (Hitchcock Pl) Burglary to a residence. Access was gained via an open window. Three electronic devices were taken during this incident

9-21-2016 (Harrison Ave) Attempted burglary to a residence. The suspect(s) attempted to gain entry via a rear door where pry marks were located.

9-24-2016 (Portland Pl) Officers investigating an individual repeatedly calling the 9-1-1 emergency telephone system for a non-emergency led to Donald Finn, 22, from Clifton, being arrested and charged with: false public alarm and disorderly conduct.

9-25-2016 (Maple Ave) Attempted motor vehicle theft. A 2002 Audi vehicle’s door lock was found punched-in and the vehicle’s ignition cylinder was removed. No items were reported missing from the vehicle.

9-25-2016 (Enfield Ave) Motor vehicle theft. A white 2007 Nissan Altima was reported stolen from a resident’s driveway. Approximately two hours later the vehicle was recovered by the Newark Police Department in the City of Newark.

9-26-2016 (Pleasant Ave) Motor vehicle theft. A white 2012 Honda Accord was reported stolen from a resident’s driveway.

9-26-2016 (Woodland Ave) Theft from a motor vehicle. Approximately $10 and an E-Z Pass transponder were taken during this incident.

9-27-2016 (Warman St) Theft from a motor vehicle. Approximately $25 and a change purse were taken during this incident.

9-28-2016 (Lorraine Ave) On 09-05-2016 a 2005 Chrysler Sebring was reported stolen from a resident’s driveway. With to the assistance of the Cedar Grove Police Department, Montclair detectives charged Danny Gonzalez, 19, from Newark, with theft of movable property.
