Montclair Police Blotter: March 1 to 6

Editor’s Note: The following incidents are reprinted directly from the Montclair police blotter, a listing of selected reports that may not include the full scope of activity in the area. All of the following incidents are accusations, and all suspects should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.
3-1-2016 (Orange Road) - Burglary to a vacant residence. Copper piping and wiring had been taken. Access was gained by damaging a door lock.

3-2-2016 (Greenwood Avenue) - Attempted theft from vehicles. A juvenile was observed acting suspiciously in the area of a number of parked vehicles. Some of these vehicles were later discovered to have damage to their door locks. The suspect is described as a male about 16yoa, 5’6 in height, wearing a gray hooded jacket.
3-2-2016 (Harrison Avenue) - Burglary to a garden shed. A laptop was taken in this incident.

3-3-2016 (Maple Avenue) - Theft of a motor vehicle. The vehicle, an orange 1971 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, was stolen from a rented garage space.
3-4-2016 (Valley Road) - Shoplifting of food products and a shopping basket. The suspect is described as a male with a short, thin build, wearing a white t-shirt with blue stripes.
3-4-2016 (Portland Place) - Theft from a motor vehicle. A laptop was taken in this incident. No sign of forced entry.
3-5-2016 (Valley Jewelers, Bellevue Avenue) - A passerby observed that the front display window of the jewelry store was completely smashed. An unknown amount of jewelry was taken from the front window display.
3-6-2016 (Bloomfield Avenue) - Theft of a delivered package. This package contained women’s clothing items.
3-6-2016 (Maple Avenue) - Theft of a bicycle from the rear yard of a residence.
3-7-2016 (Franklin Place) - Burglary to a detached garage. Two bicycles were taken in this incident. Entry was gained through an unlocked door.
3-7-2016 (Woodland Avenue) - Attempted theft of a 2000 Honda Civic. Entry was gained through an unlocked rear hatch.
