Montclair Police Blotter: March 29 to April 3

Editor’s Note: The following incidents are reprinted directly from the Montclair police blotter, a listing of selected reports that may not include the full scope of activity in the area. All of the following incidents are accusations, and all suspects should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.

3-29-2016 (Gates Avenue) - Theft of two bicycles from an apartment complex storage area. Access was gained through an unlocked door.

3-30-2016 (Clinton Avenue) - Attempted burglary to a residence under construction. A large section of fencing was damaged in this incident. Nothing appears missing from the structure.

3-30-2016 (Park Street) - The advertising sandwich-board sign for North-South Jiu Jitsu was taken from the sidewalk outside the business. The board had been chained to the light post at that location.

3-31-2016 (Greenwood Avenue) - A 61 year-old Clifton man was arrested and charged with criminal mischief for purposely scratching the sides and hood of a parked vehicle.

4-1-2016 (CVS, Bloomfield Avenue) - Shoplifting of personal hygiene supplies. The suspect is described as a male, 40-50 yoa, 5 feet 10 inches in height, wearing a black jacket.

4-2-2016 (CVS, Bloomfield Avenue) – A 52-year-old Newark man was arrested and charged with shoplifting for attempting to steal numerous personal hygiene items.

4-2-2016 (Bloomfield Avenue) - Islam Wallace, 38 yoa from Montclair, was arrested and charged with DWI

4-3-2016 (Panera Bread, Bloomfield Avenue) - Theft of an unattended wallet from a dining table.
