Montclair Police Blotter: Stolen SUV Found In Newark / Parking Deck Theft / Disorderly Disturbance / DWI / Power Tool Theft

Editor’s Note: The following incidents are reprinted directly from the Montclair police blotter, a listing of selected reports that may not include the full scope of activity in the area. All of the following incidents are accusations, and all suspects should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.

7-26-2016 (Kings, Valley Road) - Shoplifting of food products. The suspect dropped the merchandise when confronted by store employees, fleeing the area on foot. This suspect was described as a male, 18 to 25-years-old, wearing a white t-shirt and red sneakers.

7-26-2016 (Lincoln Street) - Theft of a bicycle from a common storage area in an apartment building.

7-26-2016 (Pine Street) - Theft of power tools from a construction site. A nail gun and two saws were taken in this incident.

7-27-2016 (Upper Mountain Avenue) - Theft of patio furniture from the rear yard of a residence. Three chairs, two umbrellas and two tables were taken.

7-29-2016 (Church Street) – Two Verona residents, a 21-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, were arrested for being disorderly and causing a disturbance on Church Street. The woman was also found to be in possession of marijuana at the time of her arrest.

7-29-2016 (Montclair Auto Repair, Bloomfield Avenue) - Burglary to a commercial establishment. Entry was gained by breaking an exterior door. Jewelry was taken in this incident.

7-30-2016 (Elm Street) - Theft of a Honda Pilot SUV which had been parked in the street. This vehicle was later recovered in the City of Newark.

7-30-2016 (Hilltop Place) - A 23-year-old Newark man was arrested and charged with DWI following a traffic stop.

7-31-2016 (N. Fullerton parking Deck) – A45-year-old Montclair man was arrested on an open warrant out of town for $589.

7-31-2016 (N. Fullerton Parking Deck) - Theft from a motor vehicle. Cash was taken in this incident.
