Montclair Police Find Robbery Victim Lying In Bloomfield Avenue Alleyway
The Montclair resident told police that a man punched him in the face repeatedly until he fell to the ground.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A 47-year-old Montclair man reported that he was the victim of a strong arm robbery earlier this month on Bloomfield Avenue, police say.
According to the Montclair Police Department, officers on patrol around 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 2 came across a male victim lying the alleyway on the 500 block of Bloomfield Avenue. The victim told officers that he was walking westbound on Bloomfield Avenue when a tall, thin man in a baseball cap grabbed him and dragged him into the alleyway.
The victim told police that the man proceeded to punch him in the face repeatedly until he fell to the ground. The man then allegedly took his wallet – which contained about $120 in cash – and fled the area.

The victim described the suspect as a tall, thin, medium-complexioned black male with short braids, wearing a white baseball hat, jean jacket and a backpack, police said.
Police said that the victim suffered a laceration to the forehead during the incident.
