Montclair Police To Hold Teen Seminar: What Are Your Rights During A Cop Stop?

At the event, teens and young adults can learn about specific laws that may affect them and their rights during a police encounter.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — The Montclair Police Department, in conjunction with the Union Baptist Church, the Sentinels 16 and the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) Northern NJ chapter, invite the public for an interactive educational forum on the law and the Montclair community, to be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4, at Union Baptist Church DC Rice Hall, 14 Midland Avenue.

“The event is targeted primarily for teens and young adults in the community to come out and learn about specific laws that may affect them, their rights during a police encounter and positive interaction with law enforcement officers,” a news release stated.

There will be giveaways and light refreshments will be served, the release stated.
