Montclair Police Make Car Theft Arrests: Brooklawn, Alden, Willowdale, Nishuane
Montclair officers are investigating recent thefts from motor vehicles on four local streets.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — The Montclair Police Department announced Thursday that officers are investigating recent thefts from motor vehicles on Brooklawn Road, Nishuane Road, Alden Road, and Willowdale Avenue.
Montclair police said that officers recently made two arrests in connection with thefts from vehicles in the above area.
“A vast majority of these incidents occur during overnight hours, with the vehicle parked in a residential driveway,” police stated. “In almost all of our reported incidents, the vehicle had been left unlocked.”

Montclair police added:
“With the holiday shopping season upon us, many feel that a vehicle is the ideal place to hide purchased gifts. The police department is advising residents not to leave any valuables in their vehicles. We also remind residents to never store a vehicle valet key or house key inside their vehicle. Please ensure that all vehicles are locked when left unattended. If any suspicious activity is observed, please contact the police department immediately at 973-744-1234 (or 9-1-1 if unable to reach the Police Department at the main number).”
