Montclair Police: Man Robbed At Gunpoint On Harrison Avenue

"Give me your phone," the man allegedly told his victim as he pointed a gun, police said.

Authorities are searching for a man who allegedly robbed an Essex County man at gunpoint on Harrison Avenue in Montclair on Nov. 11.

According to the Montclair Police Department, the alleged robbery took place around 11:05 a.m. near the intersection of Cedar Avenue.

The victim, a 39-year-old West Orange resident, told police that a man approached him and brandished a handgun, telling him “Give me your phone.”

According to the victim, the suspect then grabbed his phone and fled on foot in the direction of Cedar Avenue.

Police stated that the man wasn’t injured during the incident.

The victim described the man as a thin black male with dreadlocks, wearing a red and gray sweatshirt, black and white sweatpants and a black, beanie-style hat, police said.
