Storm Update: Montclair OEM Says 'Be Prepared To Take Action'

Montclair Office of Emergency Management: "You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action."

MONTCLAIR, NJ — As weather forecasters warn about yet another storm headed for New Jersey, safety officials in Montclair have issued their own reminders for local residents.

Forecasters say parts of the state could see flooding, thunderstorms and possibly tornadoes as the remnants of Ida move through the region Wednesday to Thursday. The National Weather Service predicted 3 to 6 inches of rain in North Jersey. Read More: Thunderstorms, Floods Expected As Ida Hits NJ

In Montclair, the Office of Emergency Management posted the following advisory on Wednesday:

"The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook and Flash Flood Watch for our area. The Flash Flood Watch is in effect from 8 a.m. this morning through Thursday afternoon. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued. Stay away or be swept away – riverbanks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe.
