Montclair Residents Help Boost MKA Lacrosse

Montclair Kimberley Academy's boys lacrosse team's depth was bolstered by a number of Montclair residents including senior quad captain Jack Barrack, a top performer at midfield, along with others including senior middie Miles Black, senior long-stick middie Lincoln Hedberg, sophomore long-stick middie Kiran Hailey and junior backup goalie Nathan Kissel.

Barrack scored six goals and had six assists along with 51 ground balls while serving as one of the team leaders for the Cougar laxmen who finished a solid 12-8 including 6-3 in the Bianchi Division.

Black, who also served as one of the football team's quarterbacks during the fall, scored 24 goals and had 9 assists along with 21 ground balls for the MKA laxmen.

Hailey had 67 ground balls while Hedberg had 31 as strong performers with the long stick.

Kissel had 11 ground balls.

MKA had solid regular season wins over the likes of state tourney teams such as Livingston (11-7), St. Peter's Prep (8-7) and West Essex (11-9) along with a Non-Public state tourney first-round victory vs. Morristown-Beard (14-7).

The Cougars fell to powerful Lawrenceville, 14-7, in the prep tournament and to state ranked St. Augustine, 9-4, in a hard-fought second-round Non-Public state tourney contest.
