Montclair Sees 8 Burglaries In 2 Weeks: Police
Montclair residents and business owners reported burglaries on streets including North Mountain, Park and Church, police say.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Several Montclair residents and business owners recently reported at least eight burglaries over a two-week period, including incidents on North Mountain, Park and Church, police say.
According to the Montclair Police Department, residents recently reported the following incidents in the township:
- Sept. 25 - (North Mountain Avenue) - Burglary to a residence through an unlocked window. Cash and jewelry were taken in this incident.
- Sept. 26 - (Park Street) - Burglary to a residential garage. Two bicycles were taken in this incident.
- Sept. 28 - (Wendover Road) - Burglary to a residential garage. Two bicycles were taken.
- Sept. 30 - (Highland Avenue) - Burglary to a residence. A purse was taken from the kitchen table. No sign of forced entry to the residence.
- Oct. 3 - (Church Street) - Burglary to a commercial establishment. Access was gained through an unlocked basement area. Cash was taken in this incident.
- Oct. 5 - (Edgewood Road) - Burglary to a private residence. Entry was gained by damaging a rear door. Nothing was reported taken.
- Oct. 5 - (Gates Avenue) - Burglary to a residential garage. Six bicycles were stolen in this incident. No sign of forced entry.
- Oct. 7 - (Franklin Place) - Burglary to a residential garage. Three bicycles were taken in this incident.
