Montclair Social Club Will Open Spring 2018: Food, Drinks, Events

The Montclair restaurant and cocktail bar on Bloomfield Avenue will include live entertainment and event space.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — “Serious food and entertainment in a smartly designed, totally comfortable atmosphere.” That’s the experience that The Montclair Social Club is touting for local lovers of the night life when it opens its doors this spring.

The 14,000-squre foot space at 499 Bloomfield Avenue will include a 7,000-square foot restaurant and cocktail bar that will host live entertainment. There are also plans to create an additional 7,000-square feet of “turn-key dining, experiential and event space” in the near future, according to a news release.

Founder and CEO Jason Miller, a former business and finance attorney, will be teaming with Executive Chef Michael Merida, who recently served in executive chef and management positions at several private clubs in the New York metro area, including Green Brook Country Club in North Caldwell.

"I'm excited about bringing my global culinary experiences to the Montclair Social Club menu," Merida said. "Most dishes will be designed for sharing, which reflects our strong feelings about community and convivial hospitality. We will source many ingredients from New Jersey’s outstanding local farms, which helps accomplish our goal of serving the freshest and tastiest dishes we can, as well as the need of supporting our region’s agricultural sector."

  • Roasted Carrot, Shishito Peppers, Feta Cheese, Spiced Almonds, Citrus Mostarda
  • Grilled Swordfish, Yukon Potato, Fennel, "Clam Chowder" Broth
  • Chocolate Strip Cake, Dulce de Leche, Vanilla Ice Cream, Cremeaux, Native Berries
