Montclair Stabbing Suspect At Large After Fight Over Bike: Police
Montclair police said that the stabbing started with an argument over an allegedly stolen bicycle.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Montclair authorities are investigating a stabbing that took place near Miller Street on Monday evening. Police said that the stabbing started with an argument over an allegedly stolen bicycle.
According to the Montclair Police Department, officers responded to the area of Miller Street around 10:49 p.m. on a report of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they found that the alleged assailant had already fled the scene.
The victim, a 48-year-old Montclair man, was transported to a nearby hospital prior to police arrival. He suffered multiple stab wounds to the abdomen and was listed as “stable” as of Wednesday morning, authorities said.

Police also found a 16-year-old male on the scene with a small laceration on his right arm. Medical personnel treated the injury at the scene.
“This incident stemmed from an argument over a bicycle which had been stolen from the 16-year-old victim earlier that date,” Montclair police stated.

Police later identified Donald “Ibn” Silvera, 40, as the suspected assailant, and charged him with three counts of Aggravated Assault, Child Endangerment and multiple weapons offenses. He is currently at large, authorities said Wednesday.
Authorities described Silvera as 5 feet 6 inches and 160 pounds (see below photo). Anyone with information as to his whereabouts can contact the Montclair Police immediately (973-744-1234).
