Montclair Woman Allegedly Threw Knife Out Window, Targeted Juveniles: Cops
When a Montclair cop arrived on the scene on Labor Day, the woman tried to grab the gun out of his holster, police say.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A Montclair woman may have been targeting a group of juveniles playing outside when she allegedly threw a knife out of her window on Labor Day, police say.
According to the Montclair Police Department, officers were called to a Sherman Street home on Monday after receiving a report about a woman who threw a knife out of a window, “possibly targeting juveniles playing outside.”
After arriving on the scene, officers detained the suspect, Linda Reed, 53, of Montclair, and began to interview her. And that was when she abruptly tried to grab one of the officer’s guns out of his holster, police said.

The officer was able to immediately separate himself from Reed and arrested her without further incident moments later, police stated.
Nobody was injured during the incident, police said.

Authorities charged Reed with Aggravated Assault On Police Officer, Aggravated Assault, Disarming Law Enforcement Officer, Possession Of A Weapon For Unlawful Purpose, Throwing Bodily Fluids At A Police Officer and Endangering The Welfare Of A Minor.
