Montclair's Scourzo All-Around Lax Standout For MKA

Montclair resident Bebe Scourzo continues to excel as a sophomore midfielder for the Montclair Kimberley Academy girls lacrosse team which had a 4-4 record (1-1 in the Stars & Stripes White Diviison) through the action of April 23.

The superb second-year varsity player recently eclipsed 100 draw controls for her short career as a Cougar laxlady which still has half of her sophomore season ahead. She also has had 15 goals and 4 assists for 19 points to go along with team-leading totals of 28 ground balls and 39 draw controls through the first eight contests.

"The offensive contributions of Bebe along with Shea Murphy, Payton Sullivan, Biko McNeil and Maggie Murphy have been really encouraging, not just in terms of goals, but in the way they've helped drive the attack with energy and purpose," said MKA first-year head coach Kristen Dawes. "Each brings something a little different, and that variety has made the offense more dynamic.

"For our team to keep pushing forward that group will be key to our success!

"They've shown that they can be dangerous when they're playing with confidence and attacking the goal. Now it's about staying consistent and continuing to grow that chemistry each game."

Scourzo had a goal and an assist in MKA's 12-4 victory over crosstown neighbor Montclair High on April 16.
