ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — NJ Transit officials say that a train struck and killed a “trespasser” in Essex County on Tuesday evening, causing a service suspension and delays to the Morris/Essex line.
NJ Transit officials issued an alert late Tuesday night, informing riders that service on the Morris/Essex line was suspended between Newark Broad Street and Summit in both directions “due to a possible trespasser strike near Millburn.”
M&E line service resumed in both directions about an hour later, with delays of up to 60 minutes, NJ Transit officials stated.
