Several Montclair Roads Still Closed Following Storm: Officials

The cleanup effort continues in Montclair following a heavy storm. See a list of roads that were still closed as of Wednesday.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — The cleanup effort continues in Montclair following Tuesday night’s storm.

On Wednesday, Montclair municipal officials advised residents that several streets in town were still closed due to damage from the storm. Those roads included:

  • Roswell Terrace
  • Champlain Terrace
  • High Street (between Orange Road and Cedar Avenue)
  • Cleveland Road

According to poweroutage.us, 3,220 out of 337,962 customers in Essex County were still without power as of Wednesday morning.

A severe thunderstorm warning was declared for eight counties in the state until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, including Essex. Forecasters with the National Weather Service called for flash flooding, strong winds and large hail.

In Essex County, several towns reported downed wires and closed roads including Caldwell, Cedar Grove, Fairfield, Glen Ridge, Maplewood and Verona.
