Upper Montclair resident Griffin LaLonde, a senior at Montclair Kimberley Academy, is one of the top golfers in Essex County and in the Non-Public B ranks, but he's also a contributor to the Cougars' boys basketball team as a reserve forward.

LaLonde plays superb defense and also gets his share of rebounds for MKA hoops, a young squad that entered recent action with a 1-7 record during a rebuilding season.

LaLonde tied for first place in last spring's Non-Public, North B state sectional golf championships at the Brendan Byrne course in West Orange.
