Stolen In Montclair: Toilet Seat, Van With Tools, Jewelry

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Several Montclair residents reported stolen items last week in the township, police say.
According to the Montclair Police Department, the following recent burglaries and thefts took place in the township:
- Nov. 7 - Wayside Place - Burglary to a residence. No sign of forced entry. Jewelry was taken in this incident.
- Nov. 9 - Walnut Street - An unlocked bicycle was stolen from the front of a business.
- Nov. 9 - Bay Street - Theft of a bicycle which had been left locked to the Bay Street Station bike rack.
- Nov. 10 - Orange Road - Theft of a beige Ford Econoline van containing power tools.
- Nov. 10 – Church Street - An employee from a Church Street business accidentally dropped a cash deposit bag containing $350 on the sidewalk and then observed a man pick it up and immediately board a NJ Transit bus. The suspect who fled with the deposit bag was described as an African-American male in his 30’s wearing a green-hooded sweatshirt.
- Nov. 13 - Glenridge Avenue - An unlocked vehicle was entered. Phone chargers and loose change were taken.
- Nov. 13 - Glenridge Avenue - An unlocked vehicle was rummaged through. It is unknown if anything was taken in this incident.
- Nov. 13 - Bloomfield Avenue (Crown Fried Chicken) - Theft of a backpack containing personal documents.
- Nov. 13 - (Harrison Avenue) - Theft of a delivered package from the front of a residence. This package contained a toilet seat.
