Teen Arrested, Charged After 2 Luxury Cars Stolen In Montclair
A Ferrari and Lamborghini were stolen from a residence near the Montclair-Cedar Grove border. An arrest was made in the case, police said.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — A teen from Essex County was arrested and charged in connection with the recent theft of two luxury cars in Montclair, authorities announced Friday.

“On December 5, Montclair police responded to a residential burglary on Club Way. The property line of the residence is split between Montclair and Cedar Grove. The resident reported that he woke up and discovered the front gate to his property was damaged. Upon further inspection, he discovered that a 2018 Ferrari Spider as well as a 2021 Lamborghini Urus were missing from the garage. Surveillance footage showed that at approximately 1:30 a.m., two suspects had entered onto the property. They made entry into the residence through an unlocked side door. Once inside, the suspects located the keys to both vehicles, opened the garage doors, and fled with both cars. The suspects were described as two males, one wearing a dark-colored jacket with the hood up, and dark-colored pants. It also appeared as though the suspect was wearing gloves. The second suspect was wearing a dark, two-toned coat, a hat with a hood over it, dark pants and a backpack.”
The Montclair Police Detective Bureau investigated the theft. Within hours, “based off of surveillance and communications with the Auto Theft Task Force,” two juvenile suspects were identified, authorities said.
One of the suspects, a 15-year-old from Newark, was apprehended by the Elizabeth Police Department after being involved in a robbery in Nassau County, New York. A handgun was also recovered, Montclair police said.

The Montclair Police Department continued:
“Multiple search warrants were executed which resulted in [a detective] linking this juvenile to the burglary and motor vehicle thefts in Montclair on December 5, 2022. In addition, the search warrants conducted by [the detective] identified approximately 21 stolen vehicles in 16 different agencies throughout New Jersey and New York. This includes the Lamborghini and Ferrari stolen from Montclair.”
Police said the 15-year-old juvenile was charged with burglary, criminal mischief, conspiracy, and receiving stolen property. He was transported to the Essex County Juvenile Detention Center.
The case remains active pending additional arrests, police said.
The Dec. 5 incident in Montclair isn’t the only recent theft involving high-end luxury cars in Essex County, authorities have reported.
On Dec. 28, a Lamborghini was stolen at the Edison Lofts parking garage in West Orange. The theft was captured on video, police said. Read More: Lamborghini Stolen From West Orange Parking Garage, Police Say
