These 40 Towns Could Suffer The Most In NJ Transit Strike

These 40 towns with the worst commutes could face even more travel time Monday - and you may not believe which areas could suffer the most.

Talks will continue Friday and probably into the weekend, but reality is starting to set in:

NJ Transit rail service is set to go on strike at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday.

Here's one thing to keep in mind: Even those who don't have a train station in their communities will feel the effects.

From 20-mile highway backups to the second largest East Coast oil refinery being shut down, a work stoppage at NJ Transit could be crippling to ALL New Jersey - north, central and south.

Patch has the list of the 40 towns that could suffer the most - and the least - if the NJ Transit rail strike happens (see lists below).

To determine the rankings, Obrella, a website designed to help provide consumers find insurance coverage, analyzed traffic data from the 2013 survey released by the U.S. Census Bureau.

Only New Jersey cities whose population exceeded 10,000 were considered. Analysts sorted cities by average commute time and used other available data points to help visualize the breakdown of commute types and commute lengths.
