Vape Pen Dispute Turns Into ‘Strongarm Robbery’ In Montclair: PD

A man went into the 7-Eleven on Bloomfield Avenue, threatened to beat up an employee and took some cash, Montclair police said.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A man allegedly threatened to beat up an employee at the 7-Eleven on Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair last week during a “strongarm robbery” that netted $60, authorities said.

According to the Montclair Police Department, a man entered the 7-Eleven on Wednesday, April 3 and demanded that the store give him a refund for a vape pen that he previously bought at the store.

The man then threatened to “beat up” the employee on duty if he didn’t hand over $60, then took the cash and left the store, police said.

Police described the robbery suspect as a man in his early 20s, about 5 feet 6 inches with a thin build.
