Woman Assaulted In Glen Ridge On Ridgewood Avenue: Police

A pedestrian was assaulted while walking on Ridgewood Avenue in Glen Ridge, but her attacker fled after she screamed, police say.

GLEN RIDGE, NJ — A pedestrian was assaulted while walking on Ridgewood Avenue in Glen Ridge last week, but her attacker fled after she screamed for help, police say.

According to the Glen Ridge Police Department, two officers responded to Argyle Street on a reported aggravated assault around 2:05 a.m. on May 30. On arrival, the officers found a female victim who told them that a person grasped her by the neck and pushed her to the ground.

The woman told officers that her attacker fled the scene after she began to scream for help, police said.

The victim wasn’t able to provide officers with a description of the suspect, authorities said.
