Woman Slashed In Montclair's Nishuane Park

Montclair police are searching for a man who allegedly slashed a woman in Nishuane Park on Thursday night.

Responding to the intersection of Cedar Avenue and High Street on a report of a screaming female around 10:45 p.m., police found a 41-year-old Newark woman with lacerations on her body.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the woman was “assaulted with an unknown weapon,” police stated.

Emergency responders transported the woman to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Police are seeking a tall, black male around 40-years-old, who was last seen traveling south on High Street in a “newer model,” red, two-door vehicle.

The investigation is currently ongoing with no further information at this time.
