MONTCLAIR, NJ — A pair of women tried to stop a Craigslist scammer by leaping onto the hood of his car after he snatched their iPhones at the Starbucks on Valley Road in Montclair last week, police say.
According to the Montclair Police Department, the incident took place on Nov. 5, when a 26-year-old Paramus resident and a 24-year-old Rockaway resident arranged to meet a Craigslist buyer at Starbucks and sell him two new iPhone X phones.
When the buyer arrived on the scene, he snatched the two phones out of the victims’ hands and fled the scene in a red Hyundai Accent. The two women then tried to stop the thief by jumping onto the Hyundai’s hood and grabbing the door handle, police said.
