VEHICULAR AND PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC

According to Montclair town officials, during project work hours the eastbound lanes of Bloomfield Avenue will be closed from Hartley Street to the Glenmont Square shopping plaza. The two Bloomfield Avenue westbound lanes will be converted to two-way traffic lanes from Hartley Street to the Glenmont Square shopping plaza.

Pedestrians will be able to use the westbound path, but the eastbound path will be closed, officials said.

TRANSIT BUS STOPS DURING PROJECT WORK HOURS

According to officials, the bus stop on the eastbound side of Bloomfield Avenue at the intersection of Pine Street/Maple Street will not be available to commuters during project work hours. Bus commuters will need to use the Hartley Street stop three blocks west of the Bloomfield Avenue Pine/Maple stop.

The Glen Ridge stop on the eastbound side of Bloomfield Avenue in front of the apartment complex will not be affected, officials stated.

“The NJDOT is expected to begin the bridge replacement project in January of 2017,” town officials stated. “Work will again require re-routing traffic and lane closures. NJDOT will host local comment hearings for Montclair and Glen Ridge residents later in the future.”
