Jessica Shalongo,
a senior softball player at Montville Township High School [MTHS] signed her
National Letter of Intent to play softball at Delaware State next fall. She
will become a Hornet.
Shalongo
is a four-year varsity pitcher and has been the number one pitcher for MTHS
this season.
Sporting
a 1.61 earned run average, with a total of 109 Strike outs this year, the star pitcher
has been integral in launching the Mustangs to a 12-6 record so far this season.

“Shalongo
is a great asset to our line-up,” said MTHS Varsity Softball Coach, John
Immediato.
A
two-time Second-Team All-Conference athlete, Shalongo has added three home-runs
this season. She was given the All County Coaches Award two years in a row, and
her freshman year received Honorable Mention All-Conference.

Delaware
State ended the 2014 season this past weekend with a 35-17 record. Shalongo will
join the other thirteen returning Hornets next season as they look ahead to the
2015 season.
