Sammy Lapszynski finished with a game high 27 points to lead the Jefferson girls basketball team past Montville, 64-38, Thursday in Jefferson.
Jefferson wasted no time jumping out in front of the Mustangs, opening the game with a 23-5 first quarter run, and cruising to a 15-point lead at halftime.
Jefferson’s Kristen Swerzenski, Imani Brown and Kristen Flaherty combined for 35 points, as the Falcons again pounced on Montville the third quarter with a 20-8 run.
Katie O'Reilly finished with a team high 16 points for Montville (5-2).

Ice Hockey Loses
The Montville ice hockey team fell to Roxbury on Thursday, 6-2, according to NJ.com. Roy Darrah had a goal and an assist and Nick Arlotta finished with one goal for Montville (4-7-1).
Boys, Girls Swimming Fall
The Montville boys swim team fell to Randolph, 138-30, according to NJ.com.
The Montville girls also fell to Randolph, 122-46, according to NJ.com.
