A Day of IMPACT Fundraiser

I want to thank Patch for allowing me to post about this event.  A blog post such as this is usually forbidden as it can be seen as self promotion, and I am greatful that an exceptions has been made.

We are hosting a Day of IMPACT event at Mogavero's Fitness Innovations on Sunday, December 2nd at 9 AM to raise funds for victims of Hurricane Sandy.

As you know, Hurricane Sandy really knocked the hell out of this area, knocking out power, destroyed 100+ year old trees, and completely devastated our shoreline. We face an uncertain future, not knowing exactly how we will rebuild what was damaged, how long it will take to get back to normal or even if we will have to get used to a new "normal" for the areas that were hit the hardest.

We will be part of the Day of IMPACT fundraiser for the victims of Sandy.  Fitness professionals from around the country and the world will join together between December 2nd and 9th, and perform either a fundraising workout or donate a portion of their sales during that day/week.  We have decided to ask for donations to fund the Durkin Impact Foundation, with all proceeds supporting this 501(c)3 organization.  Todd Durkin, a native of New Jersey and personal trainer to athletes such as Drew Brees, Aaron Rogers, LaDanian Thomlinson, and others, oraganized this event, and has already raised $65,000 plus a $1 million donation from the Brees Dream Foundation to help the Sandy Relief efforts! 

We hope to add significantly to these efforts, and are asking for everyone to do what they can to help out.  The cost of admission to this event is a minimum of $20 donation plus a toy to be donated to the Toys for Tots organization.  We are thinking of both the adults who are wondering what the future will hold and what they need to do to get back on their feet, and the children who have lost all of their toys and most important: a sense of comfort. 

If you are unable to help out, that is ok.  But please forward this information on to someone who may be interesting in participating and/or contributing.
