When Life Gives You Lemons Bake a Pie!

We all know the saying, When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!  I say, when Life gives you lemons, bake a lemon meringue pie!  Have you ever felt that life is giving you lemons?  That no matter what you do, how you do it, you just can't get out of the mess your life is in?  I understand.  Everyone at one point in their live has the same feeling as you do.  Here is the difference between those that succeed and those that don't:  the ones who succeed do not wallow in their pity party!  That's right, they do not allow their negative thoughts and feelings control their lives!  They just do not allow it to happen.  

How many times have you spoken to a person that complains about the same thing, day after day and never gets out of their own way.  After a while, you don't want to talk to them because they are a downer!  You don't want to be that person!  If you did, you would not be reading this. 

So, here is my rule for when I am having a pity party.  I only allow 15 minutes for my pity party.  Any longer than that and is it wasting precious time that I can be doing something.  If I have a pity party longer than 15 minutes, it is not going to make me richer, smarter, healthier or happier!  So, why waste my time.  15 minutes to cry, yell, feel bad and than I decide - listen to these words - I decide that's enough and then again - I decide to do something about it.  Maybe I call a friend, listen to some music, read a motivational book, write out a list of things and break it down so I can achieve and accomplish it.  Or I meet with bright and positive people who can see the way out when I could not. 

Than I get moving!  Sometimes, I might have to give myself a swift kick in the butt to push myself, if that is what I need.  I do not sit around and wait for a solution because 9 times out of 10, nothing comes up...other than more self pity. 

So just like NIKE says "Just do it"!  Get out there and make your life what you want it to be.
