'X Factor' Auditions Where Montville Girl Wowed Simon Cowell to Air Thursday

Emily Michalak, 12, was told by Cowell she 'saved tonight' during 'The X Factor' auditions, according to NorthJersey.com.

Emily Michalak, a 12-year-old Montville resident, was told by Simon Cowell at auditions for "The X Factor" TV show in June that she "saved tonight," according to NorthJersey.com. The crowd cheered when they heard him say that, according to the report.

Footage from those auditions held at the Prudential Center in Newark are scheduled to air Thursday, the last auditions of the season.

"The X Factor" is Cowell's newest venture after leaving "American Idol" in 2010. On the show, Cowell, Paula Abdul, record executive Antonio "L.A." Reid and singer Nicole Scherzinger judge members of the public who perform and decide whether they will advance in the competition.

"The X Factor" airs at 8 p.m. on Fox.
