s.h.e. gallery is proud to showcase abstract artist Brenda Edwards for our first solo exhibition. Brenda holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Syracuse University. She is greatly inspired by the Abstract Expressionists and Color Field Painters, especially Mark Rothko. Brenda works on a large scale so the viewer’s field of vision will be filled by her work. This allows for the viewer to feel the moment that she created in her piece. Her work is concerned with how light affects the landscape and she translates this onto canvas by building up layers of glazes in oils.
Opening reception is Saturday January 22, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. Come and meet the artist and discuss her powerful works.
