Ex-Novartis Exec Sues Company, Claims She Was Fired For Being Whistleblower
Montville woman says was wrongfully terminated shortly after major study was denied, report says.
A former executive with Novartis has filed suit against the pharmaceutical giant, claiming she was fired for being a whistleblower on a perceived kickback scheme.
According to nj.com, Min Amy Guo, from the Towaco section of Montville, claims she was wrongfully terminated shortly after opposing a $400,000 project she believed was disguised as research in return for kickbacks.
Guo, the former executive director of Novartis’ Health Economics and Outcomes Research Group, objected to a study in June 2012 that would study the use of the breast cancer-fighting drug Afinitor, the report said.

After Guo’s objection, she was backed up by the executive director of clinical operations refused to approve the study in July 2013, the report said. Guo was fired shortly thereafter.
