'Jerseylicious' Stylist Goes Green

"Jerseylicious" stylist and graduate Olivia Blois Sharpe made an attempt to decrease her carbon footprint on Sunday night's episode of the show on The Style Network.

According to The Style Network blog, Blois Sharpe came up with a few ways during the show to make her apartment more eco-friendly. This included bringing boxes to a recycling center, building an herb garden, switching to more energy efficient light bulbs and, in true "Jerseylicious" style, a closet sale.

"My closet sale wasn't just a way to get rid of my old clothes so I could update my wardrobe—but believe me, that was awesome! It also helped me realize that you can recycle clothing as easily as paper or plastic. My clothes went to new homes, so none of it ended up in icky landfills (how sad would that have been?!). Plus, do you know how much energy it requires to actually make clothes? It turns out, a ton. I saved the closet of the fashion-challenged and the environment all in one day!" Blois Sharpe said on the blog.

Meanwhile the stylists from the Gatsby Salon, in Greenbrook, prepared to compete in The Fashion Societe workshop. The salon had to make a presentation of their skills and competed against the Anthony Robert Salon and The Glam Fairy salon.

In the end, the Gatsby stylists did not win.

"Our girls had great ideas and worked so well together as a team. They really put forth their best efforts. Things just didn't work for us that day," said Christy Pereira on the blog.
