Grandfather's Hope Inspires Lazar Eighth-Graders

Students help put together children's album.

Gaucher, a hereditary genetic disorder challenges the young lives of Emil and Beverly Trombino’s two grandchildren.

Since his grandchildren's diagnosis, Emil has been committed to a dream for a cure. His latest project, a children’s soundtrack entitled “For the Children” was released in April.

Brielle Salamone and Jennifer Jasterzbski, students at volunteered, during a two-year period, to assist with the vocals on the musical endeavor. Brielle and Jennifer were excited to help and touched by the passion of the Trombino family’s dream for a cure and the desire to instill a greater awareness of the disease.

The talent and artistry of the Trombino brothers, Emil “Poppy Emil” and Sal “Pop Pop Sal,” both singers and songwriters, along with a team of children led to a delightful six-song creation.
