Lazar Students Perform at Miller Symphony Hall

Rutgers professors award middle school musicians highest ratings.

Seven buses of musicians from Robert R. Lazar Middle School traveled to Miller Symphony Hall in Allentown, PA on Friday, May 9. The 235 student performers represented Lazar’s Concert Bands, Choruses and Orchestras for both grade six and grades seven/eight.

The ensembles had the opportunity to perform live on the symphony’s professional stage. Each performance was adjudicated by professors from Rutgers University. All of Lazar’s ensembles received the highest ratings of either “Superior” or “Excellent.”

The musicians were led by three of Montville Township Public School’s music educators, Miguel Bolivar; Kathy Zajac; Janice Scharf.
