Montville Recreation Departmen

The Montville Recreation Department will be offering two weeks of a Pony Camp for Ages 9 to 14 (Classes will be broken down according to age & experience).

In addition to basic horsemanship matters important to those interested in horseback riding, this half-day Camp includes over an hour of riding time daily split between any number of the following: A riding lesson, a lungeing session, Equisthenics (Gymnastics on Horseback). a harness driving session or mini trail ride. When not riding, time is spent learning and practicing detailed Barn Management issues as well as in participating in horse related games and gymkhana activities. This program constitutes a great introduction towards future riding adventures and provides a solid foundation for such. Small groups are formed according to age and prior riding experience if any and taught by Pony Share’s team of qualified international instructors. Space is limited! Register ASAP! CHILDREN should DRESS APPROPRIATELY for weather conditions & are encouraged to bring STRONG HIKING SHOES, JEANS/SWEAT PANTS, A BICYCLE HELMET, FLUIDS, A SNACK and on the last day a CUT CARROT or APPLE with them.

The camps will be taking place at Camp Dawson Park located at 80 Jacksonville Road in Towaco.

There are 3 different weeks to choose from:

Session # 1 is Monday through Thursday, June 27, 28, 29 & 30 from 9:00am to 12:30pm. The cost of the program is $310.00 per person for the 4 day camp.

and/or

Session # 2 is Monday through Thursday, August 8, 9, 10 & 11 from 1:00pm to 4:30pm. The cost of the program is $310.00 per person for the 4 day camp.

Session # 3 is Monday through Thursday, August 22, 23, 24 & 25 from 1:00pm to 4:30pm. The cost of the program is $310.00 per person for the 4 day camp.
