The Montville Recreation Department will be offering MAD SCIENCE SUMMER CAMPS for four weeks of fun, crazy, wild science for Ages 5 to 12. Plan to attend all of them for a positively Mad Summer of Science!
Choice of the following session/s:
# 1 – The Slimy Potions Camp for Ages 5-10 will run Monday through Friday: June 27th to July 1st from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Let’s explore the depths of the Mad Science Laboratory where we harness the marvelous powers of liquids! Learn the secret of making tootsie rolls at home! Make bath fizzers, sidewalk chalk and more! Join us for a Mad “hands-on” experience as a Junior Mad Scientist! Some food items are used in this camp. The cost of the camp is $175.00 per person for the 5 (five) day camp.

# 2 - The Inventors Academy Camp for Ages 5–10 will run Monday through Friday: June 27th to July 1st from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Campers will overcome a series of challenges using basic materials, simple machines, tips from famous inventors and the most important of all - their mind. With a little bit of ingenuity, campers will create catapults and forts, construct working light sticks to bring home and a set of circuits with batteries and light bulbs. While Thomas Edison said invention is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration, this camp is 100% FUN! The cost of the camp is $175.00 per person for the 5 (five) day camp.
# 3 & # 7 - The Brixology Camp for Ages 7-11 will run Wednesday through Friday: July 6th to 8th (3 days) AND/OR Monday through Friday: Aug 29th to Sept 2nd (5 days) from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. This new STEM program allows kids to step into the shoes of an engineer by using LEGO® bricks to build a different engineering-themed project every day; exploring engineering fields including mechanical, structural, aerospace, nautical, and bioengineering; using critical thinking, cooperation, and creative problem-solving to test and improve creations; and experiencing extended learning with a take-home project to reinforce each concept. The cost of the camp from July 6th-8th (3 days) is $165.00 per person and the cost of the camp from Aug 29-Sept 2 (5 days) is $205.00 per person.

# 4 - The Red Hot Robots Jr. Camp for Ages 5-7 will run Monday through Friday: August 8th to 12th from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Robots are so cool! Experiment with robotic arms. Come discover the roles robots can play and the amazing things some robots can do! Explore the science of circuits and learn how robots “sense” the world around them! Using engineering skills you will build your own age-appropriate robot to take home. Includes robot kit. The cost of the camp is $195.00 per person for the 5 (five) day camp.

# 6 – The Spy Academy Camp for Ages 5-11 will run Monday through Friday: August 29th to September 2nd from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Step into the shoes of a detective-uncover the science involved in evidence gathering and analysis. Get into gear with Agent undercover and learn what it takes to be successful in the spy world. Connect the dots using science to help solve a crime in a hands-on investigation of the science of sleuthing. Test your skills and learn how the pros do it through careful observation and techniques to handle evidence properly. It’s all here at the Mad Science Spy Academy! The cost of the camp is $175.00 per person for the 5 (five) day camp.
Classes take place at the Montville Community Park Field House located at 130 Change Bridge Road in Montville.
