Montville Recreation Department

The Montville Recreation Department will be sponsoring MINECRAFT CLASSES by Computer Explorers for Grades 2-6 on Fridays: April 17, 24, May 1, 8 & 15.

MINECRAFT DESERT ISLAND SURVIVAL for Grades 2-3 is from 4:00pm to 5:15pm. Minecraft has been dominating the video gaming world for several years. Explore, learn, problem solve, & create amazing unique worlds together using Minecraft. This class is for Beginner & Intermediate Minecrafters. Students will play in a custom created world, on a special offline MinecraftEDU Server. We’ll find ways to survive creating everything ourselves using just the Minecraft blocks, our mining and crafting talents, our imagination and ingenuity. We’ll design and build our own shelters before creating an entire village for the group to live in. Finding enough food to live on leads the group to explore crop farming and animal husbandry. Once secure in our own village, the group ventures out on the island and discovers different Minecraft biomes ranging from the jungle to the desert. Finding our way in uncharted territory creates the need to develop mapping skills. Finally, the group storms the local castle by solving the puzzles and avoiding the traps.

MINECRAFT—A NETWORKED ADVENTURE for Grades 4-6 is from 5:30pm to 6:45pm.

TechStars grants you access to a PROPRIETARY Minecraft world you can’t get on your own! Learn fundamentals of computer networking through this unique Minecraft experience that also allows you and your friends to work in multiplayer mode as you mine, craft and build together to survive. Working with a partner, use your skills to explore all the secrets the world has to offer, including a mysterious castle filled with challenges. No matter whether you are new to Minecraft or already love the program, this program is for YOU!
