OneMontville Promoting Acceptance And Kindness With Green Wristbands
1st Annual, community-wide, OneMontville Green In Day scheduled for Friday May 20. Wear green if you live, work or visit Montville Township.
OneMontville hopes to make green the color of Acceptance and Kindness throughout the Montville community. At the Montville Township Public Schools’ offices, free green OneMontville wristbands, that visibly declare “Acceptance-Kindness,” are available. Everyone is invited to stop by and pick one up while supplies last.
OneMontville will hold the 1st Annual Green In Day May 20. All residents, students, faculty and business owners are asked to wear green. Anyone who lives, works or visits Montville, Pine Brook or Towaco, New Jersey, is asked to wear green on May 20.
OneMontville is a community movement to unite -- in a culture of acceptance, inclusion and kindness -- every member of the Montville Township community.

“If we all participate, we can succeed,” said Superintendent Dr. René Rovtar. “By wearing green on Friday, May 20, we are visibly demonstrating that Montville Township is a community of acceptance, inclusion and kindness.”
In addition to the FREE wristbands, official OneMontville Green In Day T-shirts can also be purchased through a link at www.montville.net. The T-shirts are only $10 and all proceeds will help to fund other OneMontville initiatives like lectures, readings, art openings, buddy benches, fairs, banners and other programs which encourage a climate of respect for all people throughout the entire Montville Township community.

Though launched and supported by Montville Township Public Schools, OneMontville is a separate 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Since the group’s inception in November 2015, OneMontville has initiated or supported many programs, including Montville Monte, a bear who tours all five elementary schools and Robert R. Lazar Middle School. The bear brings with him a journal for sharing thoughts about respect and kindness. Some of Monte’s adventures are posted on the OneMontville Facebook page.
According to the OneMontville by-laws, “The mission of OneMontville is to create and promote a climate of acceptance, inclusion and kindness which teaches and celebrates respect for one another by embracing and being enriched by the diversity that comprises the Montville Township community. The mission can only be fully accomplished through the involvement and commitment of community leaders, religious leaders, business leaders, and residents of all ages, races, religions, ethnicities, abilities, gender identity or sexual orientation.”
The OneMontville committee is offering FREE green OneMontville wristbands as long as supplies last. OneMontville bracelets are available at the Montville Township Public Schools’ offices, 86 River Road, Montville, NJ. Official t-shirts can also be ordered at www.montville.net, but residents are reminded that any green attire is fine for the 1st Annual OneMontville Green In Day on Friday, May 20, 2016.
According to Rovtar, “The important thing is to wear green and demonstrate support for acceptance, respect, inclusion and kindness.”
